VilVite and Bergen Municipality will, through the “One Ocean Youth Workshop,” connect youth from Bergen with role models who are passionate about the ocean and climate in the One Ocean Youth Panel. The outcome of this year’s workshop will serve as the kickoff for the One Ocean Expedition and the “Message in a Bottle” project.

Two invited school classes will participate and work on the challenges. VilVite will facilitate the workshops using methods well-suited for creative and innovative development, with the goal of developing concrete solutions related to the ocean and climate. Participants from the One Ocean Youth Panel will be present to guide and mentor the youth.

The “Message in a Bottle” project will create stories and solutions – connecting 25 ports across three continents. These stories will set sail aboard the Statsraad Lemkuhl as “messages in a bottle” The results from the One Ocean Youth Workshop in 2025 will be the first stories sent with Statsraad Lemkuhl when the ship departs from Bergen during One Ocean Week.
