What is the One Ocean Youth Panel?
Founded in 2024, the One Ocean Youth Panel draws inspiration from the International High Level Panel for a Sustainable Ocean Economy. The panel works in line with the UN Decade of Ocean Science for Sustainable Development, with the goal of achieving a sustainable ocean by 2030.
The panel actively participates in global events such as One Ocean Week and the One Ocean Summit, where it engages with key stakeholders across sectors. They challenge leaders and policymakers to take concrete actions to protect the ocean and promote sustainable solutions. The panel also drafts statements to encourage action and raise awareness about ocean-related challenges and solutions.
What does the One Ocean Youth Panel aim to achieve?
The One Ocean Youth Panel aims to:
- Mobilize action on critical ocean-related issues.
- Promote global collaboration to achieve sustainable solutions.
- Raise awareness about the importance of the ocean and the challenges it faces.
- Engage young people in decision-making processes and provide a platform for their voices and ideas.
