The seabed in the city fjord in Bergen is heavily polluted, including heavy metals from past industry. Therefore,  Puddefjorden received a new seabed in 2018. In 2024, we added a new layer of 30-40 cm of sand in Store Lungegårdsvannet. This way, we also remove the environmental toxins from circulation here. But does the new seabed keep the environmental toxins in check? Is it sealed? Will new pollution come? And what about Vågen? We will tell you more about this on Maritime Saturday. COWI will be present with the environmental monitoring equipment we use, and of course, there will be competitions and great prizes to be won.
