Science generates knowledge on how human activity interacts with the marine environment, and scientific evidence is often applied in environmental management of our oceans. With increasingly complex use of the ocean by different stakeholders, conflicts of interest between economic development and conservation are becoming more frequent. Some of these conflicts end up in the legal system, where scientific arguments are used by individuals, businesses and lawyers.
We invite to a series of lectures and panel debates which highlights some of the challenges involved in ocean governance in a multi-use setting.
