How can we use new technology to realize the full potential of the aquaculture industry and make it even more sustainable? Sustainable use of the ocean is very important. Sensible use of feed resources, good fish health, reputation, and profitability are important premises for continued growth in the industry. Capgemini, together with Oceanbox, AquaCloud, and Finnfjord, presents three opportunities where technology plays a role in developing more sustainable aquaculture.
11:00 Meet and Greet - Lunch is served
11:10 Finnfjord: CO2 as Fish Feed
How can CO2 become healthy food for the salmon industry? Finnfjord is one of the world's most energy-efficient and environmentally friendly producers of ferrosilicon, a material used in the process industry. They are working towards becoming the world's first CO2-free ferrosilicon producer, where they currently produce CO2 as waste. Together with the University of Tromsø, they have developed a system where CO2 becomes food for algae, which in turn becomes a valuable marine feed ingredient with properties that salmon need. We meet the CEO of Finnfjord, Geir-Henning Wintervoll, and project manager from the University of Tromsø, Gunilla Eriksen.
11:30 AquaCloud & Oceanbox: Alerts and Insights Through Data
How can sensor data and coastal current models contribute to insights and early warnings of threats to farmed fish? The aquaculture industry struggles with poor fish health and high mortality. We meet the companies AquaCloud and Oceanbox. AquaCloud operates a data-sharing platform for companies in aquaculture. Shared data creates the insights needed to solve challenges around sustainable growth. Oceanbox works with technology to model and understand coastal currents and water contact between aquaculture facilities. Oceanbox are experts in data analysis and how flow data can help us understand risk. We get insights from the CEO of Oceanbox, Svenn Hanssen. From AquaCloud, we meet general manager Kristian Blom and project manager Rune Smistad.
11:50 Coffee and mingling
12:10 Capgemini: How can Aquaculture benefit from the use of AI?
How can data collection and the use of data models contribute to good fish health? What future does Capgemini see for technology applications and the use of artificial intelligence in the industry? By Gunnulf Rasmussen, Head of Ocean Technologies at Capgemini, and Kristoffer Stokke, Senior Consultant at Capgemini Invent.
