Norway more self-sufficient in feed ingredients: How can good collaboration between research and management contribute?
Norway has established three societal missions, one of which aims to ensure that all feed for farmed fish and livestock comes from sustainable sources and contributes to reducing greenhouse gas emissions in food systems. Additionally, there are specific goals to increase the national self-sufficiency rate for feed. Much of the necessary work in this area will involve scaling up potential new ingredients for animal feed, but the public sector also has an important role in ensuring that existing regulations regarding food safety, land use management, environmental impact, etc., are adapted to meet this development. In this context, the public administration sector will rely on having sufficient knowledge and good data, which it is the role of research to provide. In this event, the public sector and research meet to present this complex picture and discuss their greatest challenges and common path forward.
Don't miss this event if you want to learn more about the interplay between research, public administration, and development in sustainable animal feed! There will be opportunities for questions from the audience and discussions with the panel participants after the event.
