The aim of the day is to promote knowledge and international cooperation in line with the UN Decade of Ocean Science.

- This is an international meeting place for the ocean where we will create the solutions of the future together. It's about working for a sustainable ocean that will be in better condition than today when we hand it over to the next generation. We look forward to welcoming the Prime Minister, guests and stakeholders from Norway and abroad to the second One Ocean Week in history right here in the seaside city of Bergen," says Governing Mayor of Bergen Christine Meyer.

- We are delighted that the Prime Minister is coming to One Ocean Week again this year! Last year he stated that Bergen is the city of the sea, and he thanked us for the work we do on behalf of the nation. This year we will take new steps and build on last year's success. It's a great motivation that the Prime Minister is standing with us," says County Mayor Jon Askeland.
