Date: 08 April
Time: 15.00–17.00 (CET)
Location: Havnerommet
Organiser: One Ocean Youth Panel
This year, just like last year, the One Ocean Youth Panel is coming to Bergen. Young voices from all continents, each with a special connection to the sea and a role in its future. What are the most important issues The One Ocean Youth Panel brings forward for 2025?
Join the One Ocean Youth Panel as we explore the complex social and economic dimensions of sea level rise. Beyond the physical impacts, rising seas are reshaping societies and challenging our economic systems. Our panel will examine how sea level rise magnifies existing global inequalities, with vulnerable communities often bearing the greatest burdens despite contributing least to the problem. We will discuss the future of human mobility as coastal populations face displacement, questioning traditional concepts of borders and migration policy. We will also challenge the dominant economic paradigm, asking whether continuous growth is compatible with climate resilience.
Through personal stories and critical dialogue, we invite you to engage with the challenging questions that sea level rise presents to our global community.
Meet us Tuesday and join the conversations about the most important values of our time!
