A unique opportunity

Meet the One Ocean Youth Panel as they explore the complex social and economic dimensions of sea level rise on April 8, between 15.00-17.00 at Havnerommet.

Beyond the physical impacts, rising seas are reshaping societies and challenging the economic systems of today. In this seminar, the One Ocean Youth Panel will examine how sea level rise magnifies existing global inequalities, with vulnerable communities, often bearing the greatest burdens, despite contributing the least to the problem. They will discuss the future of human mobility as coastal populations face displacement, questioning traditional concepts of borders and migration policy.

The need to challenge

The panel seeks to challenge the dominant economic paradigm by asking their upmost important question: “Is continuous growth compatible with climate resilience?”

Through personal stories and critical dialogue, the One Ocean Youth panel invites you to engage with the challenging questions that sea level rise presents to our global community. As one of the highlights during One Ocean Week, this event shifts the focus to the younger generation—leaders, innovators, and changemakers determined to make an impact on climate action.

From Fiji to France

Featuring an international panel spanning from Fiji to France, the seminar offers rare, firsthand insights into the future of our oceans. This is a must-attend event for business leaders and stakeholders looking to stay ahead in an era where ocean sustainability is no longer optional, but essential.
